Outside, everything is peaceful and quiet.

The first rays of sunlight reach the mountain peaks, the air is crisp and fresh, and at Hotel Gruber the day has long since begun.

In the kitchen, the aroma of fresh coffee and crusty bread from the local Happacher bakery fills the air.

In the breakfast room, the finishing touches are being made, cups set on tables, and the rich buffet prepared.

One by one our guests arrive – some already full of energy for a wonderful autumn hike, others still delightfully sleepy and relaxed.

A friendly "Good morning" here, a quick chat there.

Someone shares stories from yesterday's hike in the Dolomites, while another asks which trail is best suited for an autumn holiday in South Tyrol today.

And, of course, there are those longtime guests where we already know exactly what goes into their cup each morning. 😊

It’s these little moments that make a Sunday here in the Alta Pusteria valley so special.

Every now and then, Marlene strolls through the breakfast room.

She has known many of our guests for years and notices in a single glance if everything is just right.

At our family-run hotel in Sexten, these warm encounters are second nature.

And as the day slowly unfolds outside over the Sexten Dolomites, inside everything follows its gentle, familiar rhythm.

A completely normal Sunday, really.

Really.

Because this Sunday is a very special one.

Today, the last guests of this wonderful summer season arrive.

Once more, suitcases are carried upstairs, once more we greet new faces, and once more we say from the bottom of our hearts: "It’s so lovely to have you here."

At the same time, we know that in exactly one week, things will look very different around here.

Next Sunday, we close for our well-deserved autumn break. Things will quiet down.

Time for minor renovations and touch-ups, time for our family, and time to catch our breath after a fulfilling summer.

But today, none of that is felt just yet.

Today, we simply enjoy this golden Sunday. The magnificent weather.

The majestic mountains. The cherished conversations. And the final days of our summer season.

And perhaps, right now is also the perfect moment for you to plan a spontaneous short break.

A few days away from the daily routine.

A breath of clear, crisp mountain air.

Wonderful autumn weather in the South Tyrolean mountains.

And every morning, the first view out of your window facing the striking Sexten Dolomites.
